AWS - Mute (Free Vintage Max for Live Device)

AWS- Mute is a Max for Live audio effect that gives you a simple, reliable mute that automates “the convenient way around” for arrangement work.

Instead of drawing mutes “down” to silence a section, you can draw silence “up”!

The UI uses a clear red lamp-style switch so you can see muted states at a glance.

Why it exists

Ableton offers several ways to silence audio (track mute, clip gain, Utility, automation, etc.). This device exists for one specific workflow improvement:

• Fast arrangement mutes that are easy to draw and easy to read later.

This is intentionally “not special.” It is a small tool that prevents small frictions from adding up.

Requirements

• Ableton Live 11 or later

• Max for Live enabled (Live Suite, or Live Standard + Max for Live add-on)

Installation

1) Drag “AWS - Mute.amxd” onto any audio track, return track, or group.

2) If you want it available in the Browser:
